A group of field guns is called a battery.
Western Field was the name brand used by the Montgomery Ward company for their line of sporting goods including guns. Since Montgomery Ward didn't manufacture guns, they pruchased guns with Western Field markings from several gun manufacturers incuding Winchester, Savage, Mossberg, Marlin, Remington, and Colt, to name a few.

While looking for a good guide to investing, I read the article Beware of HIRED GUNS - Guide for the Wise Investor - where the Tom Winnifrith was mentioned name.
Montgomery Wards did not make guns, they were made by various companies like Mossberg, Savage, Stevens and Hi Standard. Who made guns /shotguns for JC Penney, Sears, and Western Auto along with guns for Wards. The brand name were put on the guns for the stores to sell.
