Deoxyribonucleic acid is DNA, ribonucleic acid is RNA. DNA is somewhat like the 'storage format' of the genetic code and is found in the nucleus. RNA is made from the transcription of DNA - but not every base in DNA is 'translated' (be careful with this term though, it's the name of the RNA to protein process) into RNA, some, such as introns and junk, or selfish DNA.
