What is the difference between the story of creation and the theory of evolution?

The story of creation, as told in the Bible, is that God created everything in an order, starting with heaven and earth, from there he went on to give light to the earth, called the light day and the dark night, then he created water and sky and land, and the changing of night to day and day to night marks the passing of seasons and days and years, and then animals are created, and finally on the 6th day, God created man in his own image, man and woman. The whole principle of the story of creation is that humans and animals and all things in the world were created by a higher being, called God who is actually called other things, depending on your beliefs, and the idea is basically that you have to believe that The theory of evolution however, is that the earth is billions of years old (as opposed to several thousand years old) and that all creatures evolved from small organisms that grew from bacteria in the primeval sea of the earth. Over time creatures changed and adapted to their surroundings, and some creatures evolved to move onto land, as the oceans were receding. One species that lived in the rain forests of the slightly older earth was the monkeys, much like the monkeys we see today. Over time some apes left the trees and we can see them today, gorillas orangutans etc. One of the species that left the trees was called homo erectus and they were the ancestors of us today You must choose what you believe in. Did cavemen have any religion?

Yes.One thing that researchers agree upon is that mankind has always believed in a Higher Power. Archaeology has shown that no ancient society ever existed that did not believe in the supernatural.Based upon a massive worldwide study of the most ancient inscriptions and the earliest levels of civilization, Dr. Wilhelm Schmidt (in his twelve-volume Der Ursprung Der Gottesidee) concluded that the original belief was monotheistic. It was a simple belief in the Creator (Sky-Father) with no imagery of any kind. It gave way relatively quickly to polytheism and idolatry, but its traces could still be seen by the careful researcher, just as (for example) Proto-Indo European has left indelible marks within the later languages. Other traditions also are traceable worldwide, such as the religious significance of the number seven, and the immortality of the soul.
