EDIT: Looks like I was wrong. It's not green, it is in fact, light blue. I mean, think about it. Red and green can still look good, like on a Christmas sweater, but light blue and red will always clash.

Logically thinking... green mixed with blue makes would make aqua or various shades of such depending on the amounts of either used. You can make green from blue & yellow but you can't make blue. Pink is made from red (which is also a primary color) mixed with the medium / tone of white. Since you can't make red & you can't make blue because of them being primary colors & you can make pink and green.... GREEN would be the opposite of pink because niether contain any amount of the opposite primary in them. Brown because you can mix red and green to get brown. Because pink contains red, it would not be an opposite.

Our optic light-receptors are balanced between the primary colors of light, which are blue (or violet-blue), green and red - as opposed to the primary pigments, popularly thought of as blue, red and yellow.

When we look at one dominant color for a while our response to that color, via the light-receptors in our eyes, reduces in sensitivity. So, if we look intently at pink and then look away, our response to red is reduced; the blue and green colors dominate our vision and the world appears green. The same thing happens in reverse: if we look at green for a while our eyes become less sensitive to green and we see the world in shades of pink directly afterwards. After concentrating on white, we see green/blue, or 'cyan'.
