It really depends on what you are printing. You would choose the orientation of the page based upon that.

MS Access is notorious for "forgetting" page layout options such as landscape orientation and number of columns.
Normally we print on pages in Portrait mode, but if you are printing the other way, it is called Landscape. They their names from the usual orientation of paintings of each type.
It is landscape printing format. The vertical alignment is called portrait. You change the type of page orientation in the print setup window.
