Christianity: Is a belief that a Jew who supposed to have lived approximately two thousand years ago was the Jewish Messiah that he had been promised to the Hebrew or Jewish people: In the writings of The Bible , generally the King James version, the man's name was Jesus. Many believed him to be the Christ,. OR Savior of the Jews.. According to the Bible this man performed many miracles. His followers, after his death, apparently continued to convert people to the new form of Judaism. At that time to be a Christian, you first had to be a Jew.

This idea was changed (see Saul or Paul of Tarsus) and all were accepted into the New religion, without first becoming a Jew. The first organized Christianity was when the Roman Emperor commonly known as Constantine I, Constantine the Great, or Saint Constantine, was Roman Emperor from 306 to 337. Best known for being the first Christian Roman emperor, Constantine reversed the persecutions of his predecessor, Diocletian, and issued the Edict of Milan in 313, which proclaimed religious tolerance of Christians.

The Catholic Church was began at this time. And it grew into a very powerful entity of itself.

In the early 1500's a Priest named Martin Luther caused a split or protest against the catholic church.

Which has led us today to the Christians of today the Catholics, 2 kinds the Greek orthodox & the Roman Catholics, and the protestants, which are too many to name. If you are a Christian you celebrate 2 holidays, in honor of this man Jesus.
