What is the origin of the word quixotic?
don Quixote is the hero of a novel written by the Spanish author
Cervantes and written in the style of the late 16th Century. The
novel is considered a satire and is farcical on the surface as Don
Quixote shows absurd chivalrousness. The word therefore has come to
mean ' foolishly impractical in the persuit of ideals or
extragavantly chivalrous actions'
