∙ 12y agoNot necessarily. The "tropics" are so named because the land is between the tropic of Cancer and the tropic of Capricorn. Between THESE two geographic areas is the equator. So the Brazillian rain forest is actually near the tropic of Capricorn, not on the equator. The rainforests of Asia are near the tropic of Cancer.
