If you need to boot from a CD on a Packard Bell system, you should use the F12 button. This will restart your computer from a disc.
Try to give us more details, how did you do format of your hard disk? What kind of operation system did you have? What do you mean by saying that CD won't run? I guess you want to reinstall Windows OS on your PC and get problems with boot CD?
Insert the Windows OS CD original and then reboot your machine ... after you will see a message "press any key to boot from CD" .. do that. Then if U have Windows 2000 Pro CD or XP Pro CD or XP CD whatever, it will install all the necessary OS files and related drivers into Memory and then will try to dedect the INSTALLED/ CURRENT version of Windows OS on your system / on C: drive. Then you can decide whether to REPAIR or INSTALL the Windows OS again. So choose REPAIR option and then it will ask u for the Administrator's Password if SET for C: ... just enter password if you have set up earlier other wise just hit [enter] Windows OS will get the necessary missing or currupted file(s) from CD drive and then will tell you to reboot again. Then remove Windows CD from drive and then reboot ... Now If things are normal then your machine will BOOT UP normally and will run. If U have problems even after repairing your windows ... please observe the problem what happens after what and write down and come back and ask the problem again ... We will try to work something out again ..... till then GOOD LUCK :))
Get your original xp/vista disk and insert it into the CD drive When your computer is booting up press the delete key to enter the bios Go to the boot tap and change the options so that the CD boots first When your computer restarts and boots to the xp/vista disk click on repair computer.
Power down and disconnect the computer and remove the side. Install the card in one of the free PCI slots and tighten the retaining screw on the USB 2 card. Put the cover back on, re-connect the power and boot-up. If it came with a driver installation disk... Windows may say it's found new hardware and ask if you want to install the drivers for it. Click NO. When boot up complete, insert the driver installation CD in to the CD drive. It should start up, then chose the required option. You may have to re-start your PC afterwards. If it doesn't come with an installation disk then follow the instructions given when Windows reports "New Hardware Found".
boeth. it depends on your computer.
You don't. Unless you've got a live CD, then you can boot into that by pressing the delete button upon boot and change the boot device 1 to cd-rom. Or even easier, press F8/F12 depending on mother board and choose to boot from CD-rom.
first insert windows XP CD into CD ROM drive then press Del button setup bios setting first CD, second HDD, Third Floppy Disk or disables
It is available as an extra (6 CD changer, boot mounted)
Because, you didn't choose the CD drive like a bootable, or the CD disk is not bootable.
use to boot up the unit from the cd/dvd drive rather than the HD.
The Ultimate Boot CD website consists of a download to the Ultimate Boot CD software, a forum, and a wiki. The download's purpose and features are listed on the page.
First thing is, the CD has to be a 'Bootable CD'.Change the 'First/Primary boot device' in the bios setting to 'CD ROM'. Ususally it will be floppy disk, by default. Insert the bootable CD into the CD drive. That's it!!
You can and it will load but it will tell you that there is an error because the CD is meant for Dell only. You will need an E-Machine CD to boot or have some sort of Hirens Boot CD which can be downloaded for free by Googling it by name

A CD-ROM drive is not needed to boot the computer. Just put the hard drive first in the boot order in the BIOS.
It will first boot from CD if available and then from hard disk. If you need to install any operating system or want to boot from CD, you need to enable this option.
press f12 in the start up screen and that will access the boot menu. in the boot menu arrow key down and select your CD drive. enter and your booting to the CD. hope this helps.
