I think people agree with animal testing for several reasons,
one reason is because of labratories such as a medicine lab. They use the animals to test and study the side effects of that medicine so that it is safe to use on humans. also they might agree because of science, in the 1960's a chimp named pam was tested and took a flight on a rocket to test if going on a rocket would be safe. in conclusion the reasons people agree with animals testing is mainly to see if the invention....etc would work or not,They probably think that its okay to rather than to test a human.
I known this question has been answered but animal testing is wrong and if a human wants their cures then they should test it and not the animals as they have not asked for this and they are not have for this

Without animal testing we wouldn't be able to have many of the medicines we have today that have cured hundreds of people.

Buddhism don't: Buddhist teaching is against killing - 'A Buddhist worthy of the name would do all in their power to eliminate cruelty and suffering'. They believe all creatures are 'one'. This means that they are against animal testing. The Buddha also preached against animal sacrifices.
And neither do most Christians: Christians believe that you must respect all of Gods creations to gain self-respect. They are taught that 'a lack of regard for the life and well-being of an animal must bring with it a lowering of a man's self-respect'. This means that they are against animal testing, as it involves the harming of God's creations.

If it is for animals then they should use safe and human practices on some animals. But if the product is made for humans then it should not be tested on animals because it could have a totally different effect on humans then it does animals from- an all around animal loving vegetarian
