A thewest.com.au article from 13th July 2007 noted the price of milk could jump due to the drought from $2.50-$2.60 to above $3.

According to an article from nzherald.co.nz, MP Gordon Copeland compared milk prices for Australia, New Zealand, Britain, Canada and the United States as such:

2 litres of milk cost in NZD

Australia (average for Sydney and Melbourne) $3.10

New Zealand $3.25

Britain (Sainsbury's price) $2.94

USA $2.53

Canada $2.36

France $3.43

Some question the quality of his numbers, although the cost in Canada seems accurate to me.
