Since the spark is produced in the distributor, that may be the part is defective. I'd suggest pulling your codes first though to see if any problem is indicated.
it's more than like the distributor. I have a 94 villager mine was doing the same thing after i replaced the distributor. It took care of the problem.. been work great every since. good luck.
it's probably not, check your distributor, i had similar problems, changed regulator, fuel pump, car still would stall or hard start. it turned out to be my distributor. i will repeat, this is a problem with the villager, they go bad quick.
I had a 1994 mercury villager I was having the same problem it shutting down when the engine got warm. The distributor was the problem . After I changed it I never had another problem with it shutting down anymore. Good luck
Either the thermostat was not the problem, or you put it in backwards.
Nothing. The Villager can run any normal ethanol-oxygenated gas up to 15% with no problem.
have vehicle scanned to determine problem
remove the battery terminals for a minimum of 10 minutes.
Have vehicle scanned to determine the problem
the converter is blocked inside. you have to replace it.
There is a tool made for that specific problem. Check with your local parts house.
I had this problem and it was my battery, but could also be in need of antifreeze.
i had the same problem, replaced everything and it turned out to be the distributor, they go bad on these vehicles.
