If turning the pump off and back on restores water flow, the problem is not that your well has gone dry. the problem is in your pump.

AnswerIf this is a down-well water pump, there may be poor connections in the wiring from the surface to the pump, which reconnect when the pump jerks when it turns on and off. AnswerIf turning off the pump and restarting works then it may be as simple as sediments clogging the in-take.

ANS 4 - The most likely cause is that your well's replenishment time is getting longer. -ie, it's taking longer to come back to the original static water level. This is a very common problem, especially if more or larger wells have been drilled in your aquifer recently.

Sometimes this can be fixed simply by lowering your pump a few feet if that's possible.( I used to do that a lot in my years as a well tech.) If that's not possible, the well must be deepened.
