YOU MIGHT CK -GM USED 2 RELAYS FOR THE FUEL PUMP IN THOSE YEARS-1 RELAY WAS TO TURN ON THE PUMP TO PRIME THE LINE WHEN YOU TURN THE KEY ON BEFORE THE CAR STARTS .THEN THE SECOND RELAY COMES ON AFTER THE CAR STARTS-YOUR CAR MIGHT BE SET UP THIS WAY-IF SO SOUNDS LIKE YOU NEED A PRIME RELAY
It is a common problem in most GM vehicles.
you should check out the oxygen sensor.I had a problem like that with a Pontiac myself.
I had the same problem with my 98 firebird. Took it to good auto repair shop and they fixed them with no problem. Not cheap but not that expensive. Can't remember the explanation of why they did this.
control module~! i had that problem i replace it and it runs like a dream!
I have the problem (i think) in my 1993 Pontiac Firebird Trans AM.
there may be a problem with the torque converter or there is a short in a wire some where
First guess would be the pick up coil in the distributor
I've had a problem with my O2 sensor and air filter causing my 1998 firebird to misfire.
your distributor is not set right. its probably in backwards by 180 degrese
wat if a fuel pump is the problem and gas is going to the motor and i put new spark plugs in the car and it is not still cranking up wat is the problem
Hey, I got a 91' firebird 305 tbi that had the same exact problem...it's your speed sensor or O2 sensor....(or both)
That really depends... it could be the battery, the starter, the EGR valve (most likely not) or many other things. try charging the battery up and see what happens. does it get a code?
