∙ 12y agoBasically, to back up your hard drive. that means that if your computer crashes, your stuff will be saved on the storage device. or, like me, I put my pictures on a CD because i mess up my computer a lot. (I'm only 11) I also use it for taking files from my sisters computer and putting them on mine because you cant email them, she doesnt have a CD writer, and the floppy disk won't work. (When it was my computer, i jammed it)
