A lever operated by the foot Thank You
There is a lever on the right side of the driver's foot-well.
On the side on which the force is being applied, the distance and force are directly proportional. On the other side of the lever, they are inversely proportional. If 1 pound of force is applied to a lever at 1 foot on the left side of the fulcrum, the lever will apply 1 pound of force 1 foot from the right side of the fulcrum. If 1 pound of force is applied 2 feet left of the fulcrum, the lever will apply 2 pounds of force 1 foot from the right side. If 1 pound is applied 4 feet left of the fulcrum, the lever will apply 4 pounds of force 1 foot to the right of the fulcrum. If 1 pound of force is applied 1 foot left of the fulcrum, at 2 feet on the right side, the force will be 1/2 pound. At four feet, it will be 1/4 pound. Etc,
The rear brake pedal is under your foot on the right hand side and the front brake is a lever on your handle grip on the right hand side.
Pedal.
One switch is on handlebars at brake lever ,the other is on your foot brake right behind where your foot sits .
Lower the right lever near the right seat on the transmission hump near the shifter to turn the heat off. Raise it to get heat. Left side is for defrost or foot air. I believe the '69 had a manual lever in the foot heat vent also if you wanted to turn the foot air completely off and still have the air for the defroster.

There is a small metal lever back by where the foot lever rotates (normally the release cable is hooked into it) Pull it forward and the foot lever will release - careful it doesn't smack you in the face!
