The best way to lose weight, regardless of your age, is changing your lifestyle and eating habits. I have had a weight problem my whole life and the only way I lost weight (145 lbs) was to realize that changing my eating habits is a lifelong commitment. You should see a nutritionist and go from there. GOOD LUCK! Well it depends on a few things. 1) How much time do you have to lose this weight? 2) Are you committed to losing it? 3) Are you active and how often 4) SEE A DOCTOR about a condition you may have causing you to weigh as much as you do, and before a weight loss regiment If you are committed, and looking for weight loss the correct way: looking long term (at least 6 weeks), and have been cleared by a doctor for a work out regiment. Start with looking at your food. Get rid of ALL Trans fats in your diet and lower saturated fats to less than 20 grams. Increase you number of meals/healthy snacks to 5-6x per day, #1: Breakfast should be small but healthy OJ, 1 Cup of low sugar cereal (less than 20g) Between BK and Lunch each a #2: fruit/vegetables as well as a low fat granola bar, making your full meal at...... #3: lunch high in protein low in fat and sugar, fish and poultry are good choices mixed with 1/2 - 1 cup of vegetables; a 1/3 cup whole wheat pasta can be eaten 2 - 3x per week, drink NO SODA if you have no problem drinking Diet Soda drink only 8oz and drink lots of water through the day (3-4 glasses water and skin/1% milk can be substituted 1x per day) cut out higher fats like cheeses and creams. #4 snacks a meal high in fiber, fiber is known to "fill you up" There are many snacks out there that boast high in fiber, I recommend 1 cup of Vegetables toasted chips of dehydrated fruits w/o sugar added, or natural grain bar Before dinner or right after school I suggest a strenuous work out of either walking 20 min, biking, if you are a good swimmer going to a local pool and swim for 20 min. start off easy and then each week start pushing yourself a litter harder and a little longer each time. Most people feel that dinner should be the biggest meal, and that is wrong. Your body starts to shut down its metabolism at night and burns left over energy while sleeping if there is too much energy and you body can't burn it, your body will then turn it to fat/storage. Take salad plates instead of a dinner plate eat again food lower in sat. Fat, No Trans fats (partially hydrogenated vegetables oil: usually soybean), and Low Sodium! Natural ingredients are most important if you want butter on your food get "spray Olive oil or butter substitute". Need sugar? Use 1 tsp of local Honey if you're not allergic (helps with Allergies and immune system) to drink: tea, water, low fat milk, or 100% juice only. Try to cut out all high fructose corn syrup drinks, its ok to have an 8oz cup of soda/fruit drink 2x per week MAX! Try to stay w/ diet soda if you have to have soda but still stay to 8oz a sitting. #5 Dinners: eat you protein (meats) and fibers (fruits) carbs like breads/pasta are an option if you have to have it, have only natural wheat or grained breads and a small protein confirm nut allergy information w/ a doctor. #6 night snack if you have to eat something to make it through the night, try a 1/3- 1/2 cup of nuts, sun flower seeds are actually low in fat, just look at food w/ low sat. Fat and low sodium at night. Discuss with a doctor if a daily multi vitamin would help as well. Just biking, walking, running, swimming or being active for at least 20 min 4x per week will allow you to lose weight. If you total you caloric intake try to keep it to 2000 cal/ day but discuss with you doctor your specific needs.
Weight loss should be gradual so you don't hurt your body. Try to lose 1 - 2 lbs a week, maybe less because you're still growing. That's 4 - 8 lbs a month. If you lose more than that, you can hurt your inner organs and lose essential nutrients, stunt your growth, and hurt your brain development.
First of all don’t starve yourself. Take pretty nutrition food (calorie intake depends on your height, weight, active ness and daily activities). Calorie intake should be minimum 1200 calories to an adult. Add more negative calorie foods to your meals. Take more and more water, it’s always recommended to take minimum 8 glasses per a day. Avoid oily foods, junk foods and fast foods. Do cardio 4-5 times in week (45-60 minutes per a day).
If you stick these, definitely you can reach your weight loss goals.

Please, consider what I have to say. You are the ideal weight. So many girls and boys are so obsessed with their weight that they will develop anerexia and possibly die. I believe that 123 pounds is a healthy weight, depending on your height. 74 pounds is too small! Please, please, please keep your weight. Do not gain or lose, but maintain this weight. I am 13 and 160+ pounds, and that is almost obesity, but I am on a diet.
Oh my god, you shouldn't even be worrying about your weight at 9 years old.
You are at a very normal weight. There would be no need to lose weight.
