* 3 eggs * 100 g dark chocolate * 50 g plain flour * 100 g sugar * 100 g butter * 10 g cocoa powder Step 1: Preheat the oven. Turn the oven on to 180°C. ________________________________________. Step 2: Prepare tins. Brush the insides of the aluminium pudding tins with soft butter, then spoon in some cocoa powder. Turn the tin in a circular motion and tap until the inside surface is fully covered with the cocoa powder. This will prevent anything sticking later. ________________________________________. Step 3: Chocolate & butter. Place the chocolate and butter in the heat-proof bowl, and place it over a pan of boiling water. Leave it to melt. ________________________________________. Step 4: Eggs. Beat the eggs in a separate bowl. Slowly incorporate sugar. Mix until airy and fluffy. ________________________________________. Step 5: Flour. Sieve the flour into the melted butter-chocolate mixture. Mix until no flour crumbles are seen. ________________________________________. Step 6: Combine. Now add the egg mixture into the chocolate-butter mixture so they are both in the same bowl. ________________________________________. Step 7: Bake. Pour the mixture into the prepared aluminium dishes. Place into the oven for 6 minutes. ________________________________________. Step 8: Serve. Serve with ice cream. Garnish with a sprig of mint and a sprinkle cocoa powder.

How much cmc is used in fondant icing?

Typically, about 1 to 2 teaspoons of CMC (carboxymethyl cellulose) is used per 250 grams (approximately 9 ounces) of fondant icing. This helps improve the texture, stability, and elasticity of the fondant, making it easier to work with and mold. Always ensure to blend it well into the fondant for even distribution. Adjust the amount based on specific recipe needs and desired consistency.

What is a good looking and tasting substitute for fondant?

That depends entirely on why you want to substitute something else for the fondant. If it's because you don't have the ingredients, there's a great "fondant frosting" recipe at allrecipes.com. http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Fondant-Frosting/Detail.aspx Ingredients for that recipe are: confectioners' sugar, water, light corn syrup, and almond extract. You can substitute vanilla extract for the almond extract (most people have vanilla). You can make your own version of the corn syrup by making a simple syrup. You can make simple syrup by bringing water to boil, stir in an equal amount of granulated sugar then drop the stove temp down to low. Continue stirring until all the crystals are gone--it is really important that ALL the crystals are gone. You can check it by lifting up a scoop of the mix and looking carefully to see if there are any crystals. That's it. Bottle it, and stick it in the fridge.
