I do not know what is behind this question but I think it is good to take it at face value. Haile Selassie we an important leader and did many good things. The Bible is very clear that there are only two ways you can relate to Jesus. Either you are for him or against him. If Haile accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior then we will see Haile in heaven. If he rejected Jesus then Haile will not be in heaven. It is as simple as that. If Haile accepted Jesus then he is a child of God and the relationship is as a Father to Son or in the case his relationship with Jesus is a coheir.

How did rastafarianism got started?

The Rastafari Movement was started in Jamaica in the 1930's when Haile Selassie I became the King of Ethiopia. The African slaves in Jamaica claimed that he is the incarnation of Jah, their Savior, the second coming of Jesus. Jah being triune. It is claimed that in the early 1900's, Marcus Garvey prophesied that a black king would come to Africa, and that he could be the Messiah. Soon after Haile Selassie became a King in Ethiopia. The Jamaican slaves believed he was the second coming of Jesus/Jah, hence the start of the Movement. Although Haile Selassie never said or claimed to be the Messiah.

Why did the Rastafarians think of Haile Selassie as a god?

Mmmm ... The "think of Haile Selassie as a God" , interpretation of your question , is a rather debatable conjecture. There are many reasons why Rastafaris thought of Haile Selassie as a God ! 1} Why cannot God incarnate as a black negroid man , if he is recognised to have incarnated as a mongoloid {Bhudda} as a brown Caucasian {Ram} as an Andalusian {Zeuz} 2} The above contention is mostly brought about by the prevailing racism of the 1920s & the 1930s . Some debate that the Rastafari movement was a backlash to the hypocrisy of the then white racist christian churches , that previously had been complacent in the slave trade 3} Upon further study , many men of that time from the black community , sought strength & belief from the judaic & christian prophecy , concerning a 2nd incarnation of Jesus Christ . This quality of belief some say was imposed onto Haile Selassie , because of his christian judeo beliefs and that he was actually the Emperor of Ethiopia. Rastafari called Haile Selaisse "Jah" , that was the name they gave to him as an incarnation of God. Because of Rastafaris judeo christian roots , they saw him as Jesus Christ , in his second incarnation. These & many more are the many factors that made Rastafaris "think" of Haile Selaisse as God. Well to start if abrahim or abraraham is the father of king david..then both men could have been kushites which would make them the frist egyptians or ethiopians..also the storey of moses could have made him a kushite..Now since the kingdom of kush is said to have been in egypt, ethiopia, sudan, southern part of arabia and yemen or nothern arabia..some possilble into asia and india...since all ethiopians are kushites then juses is kin to david and soloman ..its said haile selassie is kin to david too...so in fact jesus may not have been full semtic he would have been similar to his kin which are from the horn of africa..so jesus and his kin skin could be described as bronze, copper or chocolate...the same as ethiopians and egyptians..so haile selassie would look alot like jesus... if he is kin to david this would in fact make him of divine family ..which would mean he would be close to his decendents..

What are the differences between Rastafarians and Christians?

The difference between Christianity and the Rastafari religion is that the Rastafari is an Afrocentric group that started in Jamica and believe that Christianity corrupted some of the bible interpretations and its meanings. They also consider the "Western Culture" as "Babylon" spoken of in the Bible in Revelation. On the other hand, some if not all Rastafari believed that the Emperor of Ethiopia, Ras Tafari Makonnen, named Haile Selassie was the incarnation of whom they cal Jah. Which most Christians reject. But in essence the Rastafari religion was started by Marcus Garvey, who was a Trinitarian Christian and a Free Methodist. He basically started another Christian denomination that empowered the black slaves.

What do you have to do to be a Rastafarianism?

To be a Rastafarian, one typically adheres to the teachings of Haile Selassie I as the messiah, practices a natural and holistic lifestyle, reads the Bible with a focus on Afrocentric interpretations, consumes a Ital (vegetarian) diet, and incorporates elements of reggae music in worship. Rastafarianism also emphasizes individual spiritual growth and connection with nature.
