In order for a person to run for Congress, they must meet residency requirements. They must be a resident of the state in which they want to run for. However he does not have to actually live in that same district he runs for.

That may be some over-looked detail from antiquated times that would be “of material value” now.  My state is large, and has large districts.  Each district has its own set of needs and problems that should be represented by a CITIZEN from the distr

each state elects 2 people to the senate they are called senators a senator must live in the state he or she represents be at least 30 years old and a citizen of the united states for the last 9 years the senate looks at the desicions the president has made and decides if they agree with the president the senate also has the power to impeach the president

The President of the United States must be a natural-born American citizen. The following constitutes being a natural-born citizen (from Section 1401 of Title 8 of the US Code):

  • being born in the United States
  • being a Native American or Eskimo born in the United States provided that US citizenship does not inhibit tribal citizenship
  • anyone born to two American parents outside the US provided at least one parent has lived in America
  • anyone born outside the US given one parent is a citizen who has lived in the US and the other is a US national
  • anyone born in a US territory if at least one parent is a US citizen who has lived in the US
  • anyone under the age of 5 with unknown parentage as long a no proof of other citizenship is discovered before age 21
  • anyone born outside the US if one parent is an alien and the other parent is a US citizen who has lived in the US for at least 5 years

There are different rules for those whose parents are serving in the military.
