The air filter housing is held down by four rubber gromlets that nipples on the housing snap down into. You can pull up firmly on the housing and it will snap off in the four different locations. Next you can undo the air intake hose that is located in the back left portion of the housing (looking at the car from the front). This is held in place by a simple lever clamp. The air filter is actually located inside this housing. There are multiple Phillips head screws that can be taken out and the housing becomes two separate pieces. Once you have taken it into two pieces you can replace the air filter. Use the reverse order to put the housing back together and onto the motor. Don't be afraid of breaking the housing it is a little difficult to pull up out of the rubber gromlets.

How do you remove the oil filter on a 2004 Passat TDI?

The oil filter is under the engine cover, just behind the orange oil dipstick. You will most likely need to get a special tool to remove the cap. The oil filter is inside. It's not a twist on filter like most vehicles. The filter sits inside a housing under the black plastic cap.

How do you change transmission filter on 2000 Honda Accord?

Transmission filter on a 2000 Honda Accord is located under the air filter housing. Remove air filter housing and then locate the Transmission filter. There are a couple of bolts to remove and one can be a bit difficult. Once the old one is removed snap a new one in (there is a spring that you will have to feel by hand to make sure it is in correct). Replace the air filter housing and then you are good to drive.

Where is the air filter located on a 2001 Volkswagen Passat V6 and how do you change it?

I have a 1999 and the air filter is all the way on the upper left hand side after you open the hood, remove the plastic and the big vacuum looking hose, you can see the housing for the air filter. It is a huge pain, clamps are really tight and you are better off just paying to get it done. It usually costs less than the air filter itself if you bought it yourself. http://www.tobio.info/passat/howtos/passat_air_filter.HTML
