What is the secret behind getting front valve cover out of a 2003 ford escape?

Remove the engine lifting bracket (silver hook thing above the right hand side of the front valve cover). Climb under the car with a flashlight and you'll see the large bolt attaching the bracket to the bottom of the engine. Good luck getting to it... I was tempted to cut it off.
