Compared to the western front, the eastern front never fully formed. While the western front had fully developed trench warfare, the eastern front never achieved this, making it a weaker point during the war.

That can never be ignored. The casualties on the Eastern Front where the USSR carried the full brunt of German aggression almost matched that of China. If the Soviets hadn't contained the Germans, then the Battle of the Atlantic and the Battle of Britain, would have been fought in vain.

The significance in the eastern front is HUGE. When Hitler invaded the Soviet Union, the Soviets were unprepared and were destroyed by the Germans blitzkrieg tactic. In fact, if it wasn't for winter, the soviets would've been invaded. The eastern front was also important because the Soviet Union are neighbors with china who were on the allied side and the Germans and the Japanese would've crushed the Chinese and they'd be able to get valuable resources which would let them make more weapons, more food, and get more oil which the Japanese and the Germans relied on to keep fighting.
