∙ 12y agoThis is a common misconception. Water snakes, though, slither through water are not like fish. They do both have scales but they aren't the same inside. fish have gills that to breathe. but snakes have up to 3 lungs. Fish have tails for swimming in water ONLY. with snakes there body allows them to slither through water and land alike.
They are both cold blooded animals, they both have scales, althouh the scaly skinn on a snake is regularly replaced in its entirity. they both rely on oxygen to oxidise their food althoug fish get theyr through gills directly from the water and all snakes have an elongated right lung; many also have a smaller left lung, and a few even have a third lung along the trachea.
