It was prophesied by Jesus, Paul, and John that the Temple will be rebuilt:-
Jesus:-
Mat 24:15 MKJV Therefore when you see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place (whoever reads, let him understand).
Paul:-
2Th 2:3-4 MKJV Let not anyone deceive you by any means. For that Day shall not come unless there first comes a falling away, and the man of sin shall be revealed, the son of perdition, (v.4) who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, setting himself forth, that he is God.
John:-
Rev 11:1-2 MKJV And a reed like a rod was given to me. And the angel stood, saying, Rise up and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and those who worship in it. (v.2) But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it was given to the nations. And they will trample the holy city forty-two months [ie three and a half years].
The Third Temple will be built on the Temple Mount but it is uncertain exactly where. There are 3 possible locations:-
Traditional View-
Built on the site of the existing "Dome of the Rock"
Northern Conjecture (ie North of Dome of the Rock)-
(As propounded by Dr Asher Kaufman- check internet for furthur details )
Southern ern Conjecture (ie South of Dome of the Rock)-
(Check out internet for furthur details )
It will be on one of those 3 sites but as the exact one is unknown all answers are valid.
The third and the fourth templeThe third temple is built, and tared apart. Moses built the tabernacle.Solomon built the first temple.Ezra built the second temple.Herod (!) built the third temple.Herods temple where destroyed during the Jewish war at ad 68-70.The fourth temple is not yet started to build upon because there is a Muslim shrine there now. So before the fourth temple could be built (on the original spot) the Muslim shrine must be moved.
The Japanese. The Kiyomizu-dera is a Buddhist Temple in Kyoto. The temple can be dated back to 798, although the buildings which occupy the site were built in 1633.
The Temple Mount is there, it's the Third Temple that would potentially be built. However, it is not currently possible to rebuild, because the 3rd holiest site in Islam (the Dome of the Rock) is located on that spot. Furthermore, many Orthodox Jews believe that the Temple cannot be rebuilt until the messiah comes. Additionally, it is against Israeli law to make any attempt to start building the Third Temple.
Jerusalem was the location of both of the temples built by the Israelites to God. The site is where the present Dome of the Rock now stands.
No - it was quite a bit earlier than that, between 970-930 BCE for the First Temple (and 537-516 for the Second Temple). Jews believe that the Third Temple will be built at some time in the future.
the golden temple was built in amritsar
The temple of Hephaestus was built for Hephaestus and in in honor of him.
Israel does not want to build the Third Temple and actively discourages Jewish activities on the Temple Mount. They do this both because the official Rabbinical stance in Israel is that only the Messiah can build the Third Temple and to avoid violence and rioting from the Arab Muslim population which sees the Temple Mount site as the third holiest site in Islam. There are some Jews in Israel who want to build a Third Temple to restore Judaism to the status it was 2000 years ago with animal sacrifices and a closer relatonship to God. None of these groups, though, has actual plans to rebuild the Third Temple; it's more that they think about it on occasion. And they do not have the endorsement of any serious or sizable Rabbinical authority.
This temple was built by King Samaratungga.
Solomon's temple was built in Jerusalem on the "Temple Mount". It was a temple built to house the "Ark of the Covenant".
