Super Etendard is a carrier borne fighter aircraft designed by Dassault-Breguet of France. It entered service with French Navy in 1978 and is still in use. Apart from France Argentina and Iraq have used this type. Argentina employed it in Falklands war in 1982 and it successfully sunk HMS Sheffield and merchant ship Atlantic Conveyer during the conflict. Iraq used it to strike Iranian oil refineries. Super Etendards have been used in Falklands war, Iraq war, Libyan conflict and Kosovo war. French navy will replace it with Rafael by 2016.
