The authority of a court to hear and decide a particular class of cases.
G.R. numbers refer to cases that have been assigned docket numbers by the Supreme Court of the Philippines. These numbers are used to identify and track the progress of cases within the court system.
Legal cases refer to disputes or issues that are brought before a court for resolution. These cases typically involve two parties with opposing interests, and the court is tasked with making a decision based on the evidence and arguments presented by each side. Legal cases can cover a wide range of matters, from criminal offenses to civil disputes.
A tribunal is a court or forum with authority to adjudicate matters. Tribunal may refer to an administrative agency, trial court, or other official body.
It can have several meanings: (1) Jurisdiction generally means the power of a court to hear and render a decision in a given situation. (2) It can refer to the geographical area over which the court holds sway (i.e.: county - state - etc).
The only court the Constitution refers to is the United States Supreme Court.
In Colorado county court records, DR typically stands for "Domestic Relations," which includes cases related to divorce, child custody, and domestic violence. CV stands for "Civil" cases, encompassing disputes between private parties. JV could refer to "Juvenile" cases involving individuals under the age of 18.
When one does not believe they've received a fair trial, they appeal their case to a higher jurisdiction. The court they appeal to is the "Appellate Court", "Court of Appeals", etc. Any of those names are acceptable, as they refer to the same thing.
Depositions are obtained through the person or firm conducting the deposition, usually a law office. In many cases they will refer you to the stenographer that recorded the deposition for a copy of the transcript.
Legal history - is when the law is changed as a result of an enquiry or court case. It creates a historical reference point for the legal profession to refer back to when trying similar cases in the future.
This appears to be a temporary designation. A friend had a department listing of "XY" for several days up until the morning of the hearing. The morning of the hearing, the XY changed to a 92 (which is a documented department on the Santa Clara Superior Court website).
