1970!!! Geez... "0" degrees I think. Better call your local auto parts dealer and ask to be sure.
i think the GTO has the LS2 6.2 That depends on what your idea of a Pontiac engine is. The "New" Pontiac GTO was available with the 6.0 engine. If you are talking about a traditional Pontiac engine, the largest factory offered engine is the 455 from 1970-1976.
Everything should bolt right up.
The ignition timing for a 1970 Ford Mustang with 302 - V8 - 2 barrel carburetor is : ( 6 degrees BTDC )
timing for the 454 engine is 10 degree's at TDC at 700 rpm in neutral or park
Assuming you are running a point type distributor a Pontiac typically likes 12-14 degrees initial advance. This is also a good starting point for HEI.
20 foot pounds.
Points .017 and spark plug .035
Can you bolt on earlier heads/intake/exhaust manifolds.. from a 1970 Pontiac 455 to this 76 455 engine.
According to my Chilton's Auto Repair Manual : For a ( 1970 ) Lincoln Continental , 460 cubic inch V8 engine The ignition timing is set at ( 10 * Before Top Dead Center )
Follow the upper radiator hose the the engine. The thermostat is located under the housing at the end of the hose.
Assuming this is a truck, if it has a standard transmission, TDC. If it has a automatic transmission, 4 degrees BTDC.
