I agree it's probably Devil Doll (1964), which is on DVD. It is very similar to that episode in Dead of Night (1945) though. There is only one doll in each though, both called Hugo!YES but the one i think you mean is silent death

There is one from 2007 that is called Dead Silence and I believe it was one of those movies that was remade. It's about exactly what you described as the plot.
