It depends on the horse power & Gearing The weaght of the car!!!!What else has been done!!!!!
You would need to check on several factors. I know on that model the speedometer registers 150mph. If it has a factory 383 hp which which would be the 5th digit on the vin # should be an H. That would be the 330 horse engine. If it's a G it would be a factory 2 barrel at 290 horse and someone has changed the carbs. The 727 is the standard automatic transmission used in them, and now you would need to know the rear end of the car. Some of them had an 8 3/4 rear end and some came out with the Dana 60. I can't say specifically but I can say with the Dana 60 package and 383 ho it will do every bit of what it says.
none as there was never a charger convertible.
333 total. 259 were 4-bbl and 74 were 2-bbl.
If you have a 361 the 383 heads will work, but they won't work on a 318.
drivers side front
That all depended on the engine that was in the car, the most powerful was the 426 hemi with 425 horse and then the 440 with 375 horse, the 383 had 335 horse and the 318 had 230 horse.
It was probably around 78-79, as the show came out in 1979. It was a 1969 Dodge Charger, but they did use some '68s that they changed the tail lights and front end to make them look like a '69.
if you have a dwell meter it should be between 28 and 32 degrees, if you set them at 30 degrees your right on, use a paper matchstick between the points while it's on the lobe and it will be close.
In 1969 Dodge made several V-8 engines: 273 cu in. 318 cu in. 361 cu in. 383 cu in. 426 cu in. 440 cu in.
1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 and the distriburetor rotates counter-clockwise.
the 440 has much more power but the 383 is louder the 440 is harder to find
no
You didn't really provide enough info here. The 1969 Dodge charger came with several engine options. The charger with a 383 wouldn't be at all competitve in this race. The 440 six pack might be a better race and the 426 hemi would be real close. I think the Mustang would probably win but I do think it would be close. If you check Motor Trend or road and track from the era I'm almost positive you'll find a head to head test somewhere. The Cobra had like 500 ponies and was setup to race. The Cryco 440 push around 425 hp, weight a ton, in a race not even close. The Mustang's dropping would be dry before the Dodge got there !!
