Then Tighten The First Pass Say 25 lbs. Next Pass Bring Up To 45 lbs. then Last Pass Bring To 65. Looking At The Head Number The Bolts On a Sheet Of Paper This Way. Outside Bolts Next To Exh Manifold 16-12-8-4-3-7-11-15. Now In The Middle Row Number Them 17-9-(1)-6-14. Inside Row Number 13-5-2-10. Draw This Out Like Looking Down At The Head, Now You Have The Sequence. Best To You
Torque for valve cover bolts is 7 to 10 ft. Lbs . Tighten the bolts in a criss-cross pattern .

For the 3.9 head bolts (streach bolts) only use new bolts and follow this sequence: Tighten to 20nm in correct sequence. Then tighten each bolt 90 deg turn in correct sequence. Wait 15 minutes. Then tighten each bolt a further 90 deg turn in correct sequence. Done.

Buy a Haynes manual because you have not given engine size and also you need to know the order of sequence in which to tighten them as you do not tighten them all the way first time. Usually you take 3 times around at 1/3rd recommended final torque ft/lbs, increases meaning the final or 3rd time you set the wrench at final torque specs.
