Use GM's updated bolts. They have a larger 13mm head and locking compound already applied. If you're reusing your manifold, spot face the top of the bolt holes with a light swipe of a sander to make sure there's a flat/rust free surface for the bolt head to register. Also on the gasket surface you can chip off the rust layers with a small sharp 1/4" chisel working around the port in a radial circles. Torque center bolts first then outer ones @ 10 lbs. ft., then repeat @ 15 lbs.ft. Re-check cold after a few thermal cycles to chase gasket "crush".
