The pressure by pass is located on the adapter that you screw the oil filter to.
== == Yes you can... BUT - Why would you...??? The oil adapter plate that has the feed hoses connected to it, is mounted where common oil filter plates are installed... The reason for the re-located adapter is to provide easier access to the oil filter for changes... The adapter plate has (2)-bolts holding it in place near the rear of the block... If you do change this out - Make SURE - that there are NO OIL LEAKS coming from the oil filter plate-to-block area...
Lift the hood of the car, look at the block towards the left near the AC compressor. You'll see the filter screwed into the adapter.
there is no torque on the oil filter!! when putting back on tighten the filter hand tight as much as you can.

Take the oil filter off and remove the threaded piece that the oil filter screws onto with a #10 allen wrench, it will fit up inside of the center. Then with I believe a #40 torks remove the two bolts that holds the adapter to the block, once the adapter is removed, screw the center threaded piece that you first removed into the block and install a new oil filter. Then you can remove the oil lines from the radiator.
