I found in a Google search 15ftlbs torque for the knock sensor.

There is no torque specs. on that. Just make sure it's tight and be carefull not to brake it off.


I don't think Chevy changed the location of the knock sensor. On my 1994 4.3 its on the left hand (drivers side). There are 2 sensors there, one of them is the temp gauge sending unit and the other is the knock sensor.


It is screewed into the side of the engine block on the passenger side just in front of the starter.


Bank 1 is the drivers side of the engine and bank 2 is the other side.


The 2002 Silverado 4.8 liter engine knock sensor is located on the back of the crankshaft. The back engine cover will need to be removed in order to view the sensor.


you have to pull off the intake they are under there. you have two you might as well replace both


on a 99 model there are two of them and its located under the intake. quite a bit of work but not bad.


If your refering to the engine knock sensor, it is moounted in the side of the cylinder head and has a single wire connector. try not to damage it when removing, it is a piezo electric device and is vulnerable to impact.
