probly just a vaccum hose
If it is a turbo, it could be cooling line for the turbo.
You can find the 1991 Dodge Shadow thermostat in the thermostat housing. The thermostat housing will be on the front of the engine.

Spring into the engine.

Follow the upper radiator hose from the radiator to the engine. Where it goes into the engine, there will be 2 bolts. These bolts are on the thermostat housing. Remove the upper radiator hose from the housing. Then remove both bolts, and pull out the housing, your thermostat will be in there. It sits freely in the housing, so it might fall out. (You may have to remove 2 nuts that hold the dipstick on to get to the bolts. The nuts are right on the bolts themselves)
