It has hairs to trap air??? Just got it from the internet.
a plant uses the oxygen of air trapped in between the soil particles.if too much of water is poured in the soil, all the air spaces in the soil gets filled with water.hence the plant cannot breathe and thus it dies.
The spongy layer or mesophyll has many air spaces.
It helps it to stay afloat on water while being dispersed.

Aquatic plants need light too and water hyacinths are aquatic plants. They have air spaces inside them which help them to float freely in the water.
air is uses for breath. and water is uses for drink-ing, so people can live.So uses energy.
Loosely packed spoil has spaces between the particles. These space fill with air and water
To ensure that the plant is bouyant and floats on or near the surface of the water. The air spaces also allow more gas exchange/ or diffusion for the plant to get the needed air that isn't as available in the water.
Air has larger spaces between the molecules as compared to those in water molecules so air compresses to a greater extent than water.
Yes. Porous soil contains more air spaces between the particles, which is needed by burrowing animals such as worms. Water tends to fill these spaces, but even wet soil and sand may contain small air pockets.
