Model 1894's in very good or better condition have considerable more collectible value than the others of less condition . That being said, one person's view of good or excellent is not necessarily anothers, but there are standards to guide evaluations of condition. Yours is also an early one, an 1897 vintage per your ser. no. Whether it's a carbine or rifle is a big factor to it's value, but the major determining issue is condition AND configuration. Saying it's in "good" condition is like saying a have a old Chevy pick-up truck in good condition, how much is it Worth?

You'll need to describe exactly how much of the original finish remains, on all the wooden & metal parts, any pitting or corrosion, chips or cracks in the wood and report that as a approximate percentage, ie: approximately 50% of original finish remains and the wooden stocks have normal wear & tear bumps & dings but no cracks or chips or missing pieces.

If you can email me pics of it with close ups of the rear middle and front on both sides I can provide a very good estimate of value.

Hope this is helpful.....Marty
