There are many and varied factors which determine the value of these old guns. Condition and configuration are primary. Condition is commonly described as a percentage of it's original 100% condition when it left the factory, in the case of your gun w/ ser. no. B that was in late 1893 or early 1894 depending upon which publication you get the info from. Therefore try to estimate the amount of original finish remaining on all the wooden parts and all the metal parts, express this is as a percentage. Keep in mind that the metal parts had a deep bluing to them, indicate any pitting, rust or corrosion. The wooden parts were hand fitted to the junctures of the metal parts so keep that in mind, examine closely the "fit", indicate any cracks, chips or missing pieces. Post pics or email them to me and I can provide a pretty good estimate for you. email: martinphoto1@Verizon.net
