- Polaris appears to issue VIN's in the same 17 dogot format as required for on road vehicles. The first 8 digits provide information about the type of vehicle, manufacturer, and country of manufacture. The 9th digit is a check digit computed by a mathematical formula too complex to get into here. The 10th and 11th digits correspond to year and the plant that the vehicle was manufactured at, and the last 6 are the actual sequential serial number. All that being said, that VIN would indicate a model year 2007.
Not to be a smart a$$.
If the vin is the same as road vehicles, then the 10th digit
indicates the year 2002??
2003
2002
1999. See http://www.atvstyle.com/index.php/atv-vin-number
the 10th digit is the year - so 2000
You are missing a digit. The vin is 17 digits long.
The 10th digit is the year ID and in this case you have a Y which is a 2000.
the tenth digit,or number will be the year of manufacture.
The year of all atv's is determined by the 10th digit of the VIN number. In this case the 10th digit is a W, therefore it is a 1998 year model.
The vin should be 17 digits the 10th of which is the year code. You are missing a few digits.
The 10th digit is the year number. In this case you have a 7 which is a 2007.
