If it's a somewhat noticeable bump (or lump) that has grown, it could be a ganglion cyst. They may or may not be painful, as they are usually benign accumulations of synovial fluid from the surrounding (and plentiful) joints, but as they grow, they can press on the surrounding nerves and cause discomfort. As always, if accompanied by any other symptoms of redness, heat at the "bump" site, additional swelling, severe pain, fever, chills, stiffness or numbness in the hand, or anything else unusual, you should see your doc as soon as possible, as it could be something more serious or. Ganglion cysts are most common in hands (top), but can occur around other jointed areas. I had one removed from the interior side of left elbow, just to make sure that it didn't 'tentacle' out around any of the nerves.
I had one of those, that's all it is is a bump really, if you want to find out what it really is go to a dermatologist, but you can tell when you try to get rid of it if it goes down or not, I'm warning you though if you haven't already done it, it hurts like hell when you try to scratch it off, mine looked like a small red mole but I knew it wasn't, I hope this helped some, go to a doctor if you feel uncomfortable about it, good luck

Inn other words muscle flexing can be called muscle shortening and extension when muscle is elongating. For example when you bend you arm towards your shoulder your bicep muscle is shortening and you can feel a bump. When you extend your arm you can feel that the bump is stretching out and disappearing, that is muscle extension.
