A JW funeral is considered a congregational meeting by JW's. So the dress that we wear to that is no different than any other meeting. We normally wear a suit and tie or dress shirt and tie, dresses or skirts, etc. Some may not own a tie, so a clean presses shirt will sometimes be seen at a meeting. Some, who are not JW's attend our funerals, just like there are non-Witnesses that attend other meetings, so there are those who come in casual attire. These ones are not looked down upon, in fact, generally most there will make special effort to make someone who is not dressed as we are, to extend even more consideration and hospitality to these ones, since it is obvious that they are not JW's. A JW funeral is not to appease the dead person, as it is in some religions, but it is to provide comfort for the friends and family. The important thing is to be there. Nobody will make you feel out of place.

That is a matter of personal choice and circumstances. Most of the witnesses who are there will be wearing typical dress clothes like dress shirts, ties, khakis, or suits, and dresses. But often people who are not witnesses who are coming to the Kingdom Hall for the first time wear their typical street wear. It is not unusual to even see people at a witness funeral in jeans. When the witnesses who are present see someone wearing clothing other than dress clothes, they realize that the person is probably not a witness, and they often try extra hard to make that person feel welcome and comfortable.

Jehovah's Witnesses themselves will attend dressed in dress clothes such as shirt and tie, dress pants or kahkis. Some may dress in suits, some in sport jackets. The women will dress in dresses or skirts. As far as those who are not JW's who attend the service, nobody is going to expect you to dress in any particular way. Nobody will be turned away, or stared at, or made to feel out of place because you came dressed in casual clothes. It's not a contest to see who can dress up the best. We come to the Kingdom Hall dressed up a little for funerals and weddings, because that is what JW's are used to doing for our meetings. But many people don't have a suit, or even a tie. You don't have to run out and buy a suit and tie to go to a funeral at a Kingdom Hall. Go to the funeral dressed the way that you can. The important thing is to be there.

That would depend upon whether one is a member of the wedding party, or just a guest. If a member of the wedding party, ask the bride and groom. Otherwise, dress in nice clothes. It doesn't have to be formal, but clothes should be modest and clean. Those who are Jehovah's Witnesses will most likely wear a suit and tie if male, or a dress or skirt/blouse combo if female. If you are a female visitor, you would probably feel comfortable in a pants suit appropriate for the occasion.

Worldwide, when Jehovah's Witnesses meet twice weekly at their local Kingdom Halls for Bible study, instruction and worship, they dress as if going to God's sacred house. In other words, males usually wear shirts, slacks, ties and jackets, and women wear dresses or skirt outfits. They also make a point to be clean and dress with modesty, not with the latest fads or showing a lot of skin.

Of course, when new ones come to the Hall, we do not expect them to dress in any particular way, and never will they be mocked or looked down upon if they are not "dressed up" like other attendees. The important thing is that we 'do not forsake the gathering of ourselves together' so as to 'encourage each other' and 'incite to love and fine works' as The Bible instructs us at Hebrews 10:24,25.

Like you would for a meeting.

If you've never been then there are few tips to be had

A suit jacket and tie with suit pants is very perferable. Slacks are acceptable. if you dont have any good jacket, you could just wear a normal white dress shirt with a tie. All in all, look the best you can dressed in the best you got.

For ladies, dress in dresses but nothing that shows out too much. Skirts are ok, but they should be above the thigh line. Accessories are acceptable, but nothing too flashy. So, look your best but with modesty.
