check all fluids...may be serious, but replace fuel filter, cuz it may be simple... any smoke? check all the basics found in a manual(troubleshooting section) : ) everyone should have a manual for their vehicle, and the local library should have a SHOP manual available in the reference section--make copies of the right info and read up..you'll be a pro in no time ...good luck:) Check the cat converter! If it feels heavy, replace it!
no oil in trans
you need a clutch that's all
It sounds like something is defective in the clutch pedal linkage, or actually within the clutch itself.
tourque converter. Clutch,if this has a standard shift they had a problem with the differential stripping, hopefully not the problem but it is common. Check your fluid level. If the car gets out of drive and the car can be pushed your link should be fine. The problem then is either in the torque converter or in the control valves inside the transmission.
You have a bad or clogged slave or clutch master cylinder
Most likely it means the transmission is going out. This could be caused by a lack of transmission fluid or a complete failure of the system (judging from the minor incident to the major, respectively). I would get someone you trust or a mechanic to look at it to give you an evaluation. It is typical for older Ford cars to loose their ability to shift into gears. Good luck.
I am the owner of a 94 cutlass and it will not shift in reverse ,it will however shift into drive if i rock the car....can you tell me whats wrong or how to fix it please..my email is email@example.com
CLutch is buggered or might just be the clutch cable
You did not have to apply the brake on a 91 model to shift it. There's nothing wrong.
Mis adjusted shift linkage, internal failure
The transmission computer has detected a malfunction and switched to limp in mode. You need to have it checked for codes to see if you have an electrical or mechanical problem.
Most Likely needs time to warm up. Oil is thicker when its cold so Lubrication between gears can be harder.
Clutch slipping , Worn, damaged or chipped gear teeth for those particular gears , Worn or damaged synchronizer for those particular gears .
either you disk has scratched up on the security part of the disk or something is wrong with your disk drive
I own a M30 from what I understand it has a Steptronic Transmission which means that to shift gears you have to do it yourself with the gas pedal I found that best time to shift gears was around 3500 rpm's at that pt I release the gas and then wait for it to go down to about 1500 rpms or so and then reapply my ft and repeat... like a stick shift on training wheels I assume... If I am wrong will someone please correct me..
I have no idea what went wrong. Take it to a trans shop.
Either have air in your lines or you might need a new clutch plate.
the ignition switch is bad
What I think happened is that something with your gears went wrong so that is what is messing all of your rpms up. But, for the other problem I do not know a thing about why it would do that. If it still has a reverse, just in the wrong place, then the linkage or cable from the shift lever to the transmission has streched or fallen out of alignment.
Corroded wiring harness on transmission?
On my 1990 Voyager, the transmission has a "safe," or "limp" mode. If something is wrong with the trans, it will not shift out of second gear. This is supposedly to allow you to drive to the repair shop at a reduced speed.
Check to see if brake lights are workingShift interlock and brake lights are on common circuitCheck fuse Try turning key to 1st (unlock) position without engine runningShift to neutral to start and then shift to Drive or Reverse
The Carmine Brothers are 4 Soldiers who are in a war in Gears of war they are very powerfull people there is only 4 and they are. Dayle, Jed, Josh and David WRONG WRONG WRONG there are only three of them that is Anthony, Benjermin, And Clayton. Next time get it right oh and its Gears of War not Wars of Gears.
Nope, it just means the transmission takes a little longer to shift. or it means the clutch is a little slow. either way, not a problem unless you want to fix it.
