Make sure you have enough coolant in your radiator. The radiator is the thing in the very front of the car, the very front of the under the hood area.
fan not working or coolant level too low or fins on radiator loose
Over heating and no heat from the heater.
your heater core prob. is leaking or you are being punked by teens!
if the heater stoped working it sounds like a restriction or total blockage in the coolant lines, or its your water pump. take it to a shop as this can kill the motor through over heating.
Possibly a cracked or broken heater core. If the engine is over heating, somethings wrong with the cooling system and that's why your a/c and heat won't work.
Personally I do not know about a G20 1990 Chevy Van but the basics of heating are, the thermostat, heater control valve, heater fan and heater matrix. Does the van overheat at all, engine wise? Could be possible the system just needs a flush out. When you turn the heating dial (presuming it is a dial) you should hear a clunk which normally indicates the heater control valve switching over. Other than that, I've said all I can. Hope to be of some help, hope you get it sorted out.
This would indicate that the system is low on coolant when the gauge is hot. Not enough coolant to service the heater core.
Most likely cause is an airlock in the cooling system
Because your jeep wrangler is over heating, you must have a sensor in the dash not working If that smoke is steam, the heater core is leaking and in need of replacement.
A fan heater blows air over a heating element to warm the room quickly, while a radiant heater emits infrared radiation to heat objects directly. Fan heaters are more effective for heating a room quickly, while radiant heaters provide more targeted warmth.
this is the second motor in this car with the same radiator/hoses and still no heat. can the heater core be a problem or maybe the radiator hoses?the car does not over heat.or can it be the part bolted onto the fire wall where the hose goes into?someone please help me.
Yes it is - only when idling and if I turn the heater on it cools down - thermostat?
