The "squeal tabs" are built in on purpose, to let you know when the pads are worn down and need to be replaced. If the squealing stops and grinding begins, you've waited too long. Get your vehicle to a mechanic (or at least someone who knows what they're doing), in either case.
i do not no
Probably your emergency brake pedal. Try lifting up on your e brake pedal and see if id goes out.
Sounds like low pads. many have built in wear indicators that squeal to warn you.
Power booster is bad or the vacuum supply to booster is cut off.
No, a busted brake booster will not cause the brake pedal to go to the floor. It will however cause the brake pedal to be extremely hard to push. A defective master cylinder will cause what you describe. Replace the master cylinder and bleed the brakes. It can because it happened to me. The booster lost vaccum and the pedal went to the floor. Sorry, you are wrong. The only reason the pedal went to the floor was because the master cylinder failed. The brake booster only boosts the pressure on the master cylinder and allows you to not have to push so hard on the brake pedal. Cars of yesteryear did not even have a brake booster and they stopped just fine albeit you had to push the pedal allot harder than with power brakes. A failing brake booster will not cause your pedal to go to the floor although it might cause it to go lower than normal before the brakes apply. As long as the master cylinder is good you will still have brakes, but you will have to really push hard and might even have to pump them up in order for them to stop the car.
Usually means they probably didn't bleed the brakes or did not top off the brake fluid
By the way it sounds, its not good. You probably need new brake pads, front and back, but for sure the front first if you need to save money. You may just need to put more brake fluid in,or what people call bleed your brakes, not sure how that's done.Maybe just press brake pedal down till the tension catches and the brake pedal is hard to push.If that happens then you know your brakes are catching.good luck.
You need to be more specific What exactly is wrong with your brakes . There are a number of relay's in the brake system .But not neccesarily a fuse . if your brake pedal is hard as a rock (no power brakes) most time its the electric brake booster relay mounted near master cylinder on firewall use dealer relay only only 23 bucks
if it only does it when you apply the brakes hard it could be the anti-lock brake system depending on the year some have a pump and its noise is what is described. The other possability is front disk brake pads are worn off and and gringing away the rotor.
The brake pedal should not go much more than half way down between your foot and the floor to effectively stop a vehicle, more than this and something is wrong with the brakes.
I would first check your brake light switch which is attached to your brake pedal under the dash. Since you can turn off the lights by pushing the pedal it is possible the switch is bad. They are around $10.00.I hope this helps you. Mark
No resistance from the brake pedal could indicate very low brake fluid, a broken or leaking brake line, bad master cylinder, blown out caliper pistons or rear wheel brake cylinders. Another possibility: Did you just compress the brake caliper pistons during a repair operation? If so, you may need to pump the brakes (slowly) a few times to re-extend them. While doing so, it will feel like there is no resistance from the brake pedal.
