No. God gave us the religion. We know he is God through many miracles. Even though there are many more books in The Bible than other, Catholics seek to improve and accept all understanding for God. People would not devout their lives to God if God had told them otherwise.
Catholic Answer
Jesus Christ is the Son of God, He came to earth and was incarnate of the Blessed Virgin Mary to effect our salvation out of God's love for us. Out of His great love for us, He established the Catholic Church so that He would be with us until the end of time, giving us His grace through the sacraments and effecting our salvation.
Being Catholic is a very good thing, it means that you are a member of the Body of Christ, a Christian, and are bound for heaven, if you live up to what the Church asks of you, and you leave a good Christian life of repentance and love for your brothers and sisters.
Being Catholic is a very GOOD thing!
How could an institution that teaches one must live out his life by imitating Christ be bad?
The Church sets high standards for her members and gives us constant reminders of what we should do and what we should not do. I believe we have a classic "misunderstanding" of Catholicism here.
Again, Bishop Sheen comes to mind: "There are not a 100 people who hate the Catholic Church - but there are millions who hate what they wrongly believe the Church to be "
I would recommend that you read up on Catholic Beliefs and make decision, based on facts, not wild supposition.
I am practical Catholic and I know that the Church is right and that we have the fullness of faith.
Just think of all the 33,000 plus "Christian Denominations" out there - all Right, all original Bible Christians, and all know what the Bible really says.... Then look to the One True Church.
Learn about her and you will pray daily that you don't die before you are in full communion with her.

Catholic AnswerCatholicism is the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church is the Mystical Body of Christ (see Acts 9:1-5, 1 Cor 12:12-14), the Catholic Church is referred to as the Spouse of Christ (Eph 5:23, John 3:29 & Matt 9:15) and the Apocalypse (Revelation) 19:7, 21:3, 22:17. As Our Blessed Lord is God, the very definition is that He is Good, He is Goodness Itself, Evil is an absence of Good. To ask if the Catholic Church is "bad" is to imply that God is "bad" which is nonsense. As they used to say when I was younger, "God doesn't make trash," and He is certainly not trash. So, this response is from a non-Catholic who is attempting to give the official line of other Churches to ensure balance in the answer and to avoid just one (possibly biased) point of view.
No, in many senses, of course it isn't wrong.
The Roman Catholic Church is a branch of the Christian Church worldwide which adheres primarily to the beliefs and Creeds as set down by the early Church. Catholics believe in a Trinitarian God as laid down by scripture, in the ministry, teaching, death, resurrection and ascension of Our Lord Jesus Christ, and in his coming again one day. They believe in salvation through faith in Jesus and in the final resurection. This is the faiith of the Christian Church, whether Catholic, Anglican, Methodist or any other Christian denomination
Therefore, in this sense, Catholicism is certainly not 'wrong'.
There are only two areas that may cause concern, however, among non-Catholic Christians. First Catholicism is seen as 'wrong' by a majority of non-Catholics in one sense because of what they see as extra doctrines that Catholics believe are revealed by God - but other Churches do not believe are Godly - such as doctrines surrounding the Virgin Mary, Purgatory, invocation of saints and relics, infallibility of the pope etc. Many non-Catholics perceive these as having no basis in scripture, history or God's revelation to humanity, and are therefore believed to be humanly invented.
Second, the major area where non-Catholics see the RC Church as wrong (very wrong) is the assumption that some Catholics have in that they hold the 'true, pure' religion, bearing in mind what Non-Catholics see as invented doctrines, and bearing in mind Christ's own teaching that anyone who turns to Him will be saved, not just those who belong to a particular organisation. As the rest of the Christian Church has regarded scripture primarily as a basis for faith, they see the RC Church as adopting non-Biblical doctrine and yet claiming that they are still the one, pure, church, and having excusive right of salvation. And many in the Non-Catholic Church see this as not only arrogant and offensive, but not adhering to Christ's own teaching. So, in that sense too, the Roman Catholic Church could be thought of as 'wrong'.
there really isn't anything bad about catholicism, but the thing is i am christian and we believe that people get confused about wwhat the virgin Mary did. i understand that she carried Jesus in her womb and she had faith and she also didnt say no to GOD about carrying this baby. but what did she really do besides that. people just give her respect because she is the mother. i will do some research and answer agen. this is what i know from my religion.
Christian answer:
No religion is good. Jesus condemned the religion of the spiritual leaders of Israel in His day:
Matthew 23:13 "But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in.
Jesus didn't come to establish a religion, He came to make a way for people to restore their relationship with God - through His death as a propitiation for sin.
True Christianity is not about a religion - such as the Catholic Church - it is about relationship, a person's new relationship with God through Christ:
Galatians 3:26,27 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
Galatians 4:6,7 And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, "ABBA, Father!" Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
1John 3:1 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.
The Catholic Church is not the only religion that claims it is the only church set up by God.
Catholic Answer
This is a very disturbing question because it shows the current mores of our society. especially in England, Australia, and the United States. For instance, the United States was started by Protestants who wanted religious freedom from the established Church in England. Catholics and Catholicism were viewed as evil, even to this day, there are web sites, organizations, and preachers whose entire ministry is to rescue people from the Catholic church.
From Catholicism and Fundamentalism, the Attack on "Romanism" by "Bible Christians" by Karl Keating, c 1988:
"Some fundamentalists who seek out Catholics as converts are not merely profundamentalist; they are also decidedly anti-Catholic. They expend more effort on abusing the Catholic religion than on justifying their own. They are more interested in showing Catholicism is wrong, no matter what it takes to "prove" that, then they are in showing their position is right.
Just a few years ago people were saying anti-Catholicism was going the way of the dinosaur. If so, it seems the dinosaur has made an unexpected comeback, because anti anti-Catholicism is healthier now than it has been for years. New organizations dedicated to undermining the Church keep cropping up, and old ones are revivified, and together they turn out more tracts, magazines, and books then ever before -- millions of copies each year.
After reading enough of this material one becomes aware that the same points ten to be made in the same way, even in the same words. Who is borrowing form whom? It does not seem that any of these groups relies heavily on any other. Instead, they all seem to fall back on one source, Loraine Boettner's Roman Catholicism, which might be called the "Bible" of the anti-Catholic position within fundamentalism.
Remember "Protestantism" is just that, it is a protest against the Church that Jesus Christ founded. It is mostly based on misinformation, misunderstanding, prejudice: particularly in the United States where Catholics were viewed as "foreigners" who were invading the country that was founded by Puritans to get away from the established Church.
The links below have quite a bit of information about the Protestant vs. Catholic debate, and why it is so sad.
Catholic AnswerThe Catholic religion was established by God, His Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. As God, Himself, is the very definition of Goodness, from which all goodness comes, the Catholic religion, by very definition is good.
there is nothing wrong with Catholicism you are who you are
Catholicism, as any other religion does and must, believes that other religions are wrong on moral issues. The amount they believe is wrong and the consequences of this varies from religion to religion.
Pope Paul III was interested in figuring out what was wrong with Catholicism and reforming it.
you just do it, nothing wrong. Think about what you are doing before you do it... dont just jump to conclusions...
I don't think it's wrong, you should probably try to keep it short and innocent, but it depends on your family and what denomination of Christianity (Catholicism, Non-Denom, Baptist, Methodist, Lutheren, etc.)
