Make sure it is in park. Clutch pushed in. Dead battery.

If its not turning over at all then it might be a battery problem, Try cleaning the battery terminals, and/or charge the battery, Could also be the starter solenoid, but start with the battery first.

You may have gotten the valve timing wrong. If a valve is open when the piston is at TDC it may hit it, doing considerable damage.

my first thought would be to check the starter . if you can tap on the starter and it starts after that..you have a bad starter .
