What is wrong with the rear defrost on your 1992 4runner the light will come on when you press the button but even after waiting a long while the ice stays on the rear window?

Also, could have broken leads on the actual window itself, i had similar problem..had windows tinted in summer, used defroster in winter, the installers use razor blades and cut some of the parts on the back window. Now a whole section will not defrost. If the element as a bad connection near the window this could cause this problem; look for the easy fix first. Is the power lead tight to the grid?
