Since I'm 65 I have many. When I was 16 I saved a 6 year old boy's life from drowning down at English Bay in Vancouver, B.C. When I was in my 20s and living up North I owned a R & T Dodge with a 440 and made over $8000 drag racing (against men!) I used the same car to go on a 1200 mile race and came in 3rd (all men.) In my 20s I crashed through the "Men's World" in business and made friends with them at the same time. Am I a women's libber? To a point, but I enjoy being a woman. I was young, full of myself and had a blast. In my 30s I pulled a teen out of car that had been in an accident minutes before it caught fire. I give respect and expect it back and if not I kick the person to the curb so I save my energy for those that need me. I've learned to apologize and truly mean it when I say "I'm sorry" if I've made a mistake. I have many friends and feel blessed and I like myself because I know I will always stick with friends and family 100%. I'm loyal and honest and I worked hard to get that way. LOL I am a Christian and believe in it with all my heart. I lost twin sons at 3 days old; beat cancer back in the 1960s, and also beat the dreaded disease of panic attacks and Agoraphobia. I'm resilient and had one bad marriage and a messy divorce and bounced right back out in the world to better myself and I am married to a wonderful man now and we will have been married 35 years. Although we couldn't have children I am blessed with 3 nephews, 1 niece and 2 Goddaughters all of which I spent a great deal of quality of time with them when they were younger and have fond memories. I saw not only my own parents through illness, but my husbands and never faltered until they passed away. I work my butt off, help out my husband and friends, and volunteer at the Abused Women's Center as well as Pet Network for the Prevention of Cruelty for animals. I give my time and some money to Children's Hosp. I walk through life very sure-footed and balanced, but also love to poke fun at myself if it means I can get a smile out of someone I like who isn't feeling so great or is depressed. I love to help people in general and fight like a Pit Bull for the under-dog. My government knows my full name and where I live! LOL Doctors sit up and take notice if I'm their patient because I want answers and no-nonsense attitude when dealing with my health or that of my husbands. I'm a Baracuda when it comes to business. Be nice to me and we can make a deal or come to an agreement, shaft me, and hell hath no fury like a woman! If the above makes me sound arrogant then I guess I am. If you think I'm an angel I'm NOT! If you think no one could be this perfect your right! I had to learn all those things from taking different roads in my life and learning to listen and communicate from people much wiser than myself and I have a great thirst for knowledge. It keeps you alive!
That quote is said by Bret Hart. Well, If you are asking me the question... The best there "was" is Bob Marley. The best there "is" is Bob Seger. The best there ever will "be" is the band Metallica. Or, depending on your religion, it could be your god.
