At the time of this writing, April 2010, no colored papers, markers of any type including pens, pencils, or crayons. Additional banned materials include: tablets or books with staples or spiral wire binding, graphic pictures of sex with violence, no books with pictures sex organs or breast nipples. The mailrooms have lists of books which are not allowed because they contain banned material including scenes of rape, incest, bomb making instructions, sex with children, racial slurs, or are deemed to promote unrest or violence in prisons. The list of these books are not available to inmates, their families or to bookstores. This writer has been told that these lists are not computerized, the mailrooms must check every book against a printed list.
