Any Jeep with a NEUTRAL position on the Transfer Case shifter. There a numerous Jeep owner/user Forum, all you have to do is search.
not recomended. bad for transmission.
The only ways to tow a 2wd is remove the drive shaft or put on a trailer.
on a flat bed tow truck Addition>>> if it is part time 4wd it can be lifted and towed short distances or longer distances on dollies and if it is a quadra trac driveline it can be towed with all wheels on the ground (same for part time 4wd) in DRIVE with transfer case in Neutral (PER JEEP) with the ignition OFF. Quadra trac drive lines also can be lifted and towed on dollies. NOTE: In this instance the term Dollies refers to the auxillary wheels used by tow truck operators to tow vehicles that do not have wheels that will spin freely, NOT the front wheel driveon trailers used to tow cars. This type of trailer is not suitable for towing full time four wheel drive vehicles.
Yes. Make sure that the transmission is in Neutral and that the transfer case is also in Neutral.
I tow an 18.5' Bayliner with a 2004 Grand Cherokee Freedom Edition 4x4 with a 4.7 H.O., tow pkg. and heavy duty cooling pkg. The boat is considerably under the rated tow capacity but I always turn off the overdrive especially going up and down hills. Jeep recommends to do so if you are towing and the overdrive is constantly kicking in and out; if you do not you will burn out the overdrive unit and transmission. Hope this helps.
No.
could you please just answer my question can I tow a jeepsport Cherokee 4x4 wheels down Trans in park, transfer case in neutral then yes.
No
all wheel drive
It is not recommended to tow all four wheels down. Chrysler wants you to use a vehicle dolley and tow with either front of the vehicle up or rear of vehicle up in the dolley. Just reading from the service manual. I cant even find a procedure do it if you do tow with four wheels on ground. Hope this helps.
More info please. Tow it with a tow truck, or behind a motorhome with all wheels down?
If on a trailer or tow dolly, yes. It can not be towed all four wheels down.
Hi, Thank you Rdrsh for your answer, any REASON why you cannot flat tow a MANUAL Jeep Compass 2007 ??
I have a jeep compass and my guess will be that you can tow it by the front side and out of the 4x4 or slipery and make sure the hand brake is off... The jeep is a great car but make sure not to brake it because there isn't much information out... Try the free alldata.com database at your local library... Let me know, Eduardo
No
the best way that i know is to buy the small trailer unit that supports the front wheels of the jeep, but a trailer shop can modify the vehicle to accept a tow bar, i think some changes will have to be made so that the front wheels will turn with the rv.
On a trailer, yes. Four wheel down, no.
